As photographers, we are such a social bunch! Here are the details of our two nights of fun and frivolity! All are welcome to attend.
SATURDAY NIGHT ~ 18TH FEBRUARY
Hair of the Dog is unique. Where else in the world can you see international leaders in the photography industry, award winners and rising stars, as well as experienced educators, all in South East Queensland - at a seriously affordable price?!? On top of this, as part of your ticket price... yes free really... we are inviting you to join us for the Hot Summer Nights Beach Party! Feel free to slip into something more comfortable, in fact the dress code is beach wear... maybe not budgie smugglers though boys...
Hair of the Dog is famous for its Queensland hospitality, so whether you are from the tropical north, down south, west to Perth or from over the ditch in Kiwiland, we want to meet you and show you how we party in the sun. It's a great chance to meet like minded creatives, new friends, and future collaborators, so don't miss out on this night of tropical fun!

SUNDAY NIGHT ~ 19TH FEBRUARY - LOUNGE PARTY
What is a lounge party anyway? Who knows… it just sounds cool… and it will be!!
At Hair of the Dog the Sunday night is known for its more upmarket socialising, as well as a guaranteed great night out. Join us at Factory 51 in Cooraparoo for a night of good food, a beverage or two and fun times with your photography associates and friends. Mingle with the speakers, sponsors and your AIPP representatives and enjoy great live music from Graham Hobson’s Park Avenue Duo.
The dress code is smart casual but, please guys, leave the photographer’s dress code of black in the closet - unless it’s a classic little black dress! Your first drink is free, however the bar is fully stocked and you won’t be disappointed with your choices available for purchase!
Whilst we will do our very best to get to bed by a reasonable hour to prepare for the following day’s presentations, it’s not always possible… therefore we will be kicking on afterwards to the city for anyone game enough to take it on.
Date: Sunday, 19th February 2017
Location: Factory 51, 51 Holdsworth Street, Coorparoo Q 4151
Tickets: $85 per person
FRIDAY NIGHT ~ 17TH FEBRUARY - PRINT CRITIQUE
The 2017 AIPP EPSON Queensland Awards are just around the corner so it's time to get organised!
This is your chance to book for our "Creating Award Images" evening on Friday 17th February 2017. We will be getting back-to-basics and demystifying the process to enter the state and national awards.
We'll be covering the 5 steps to creating an award image;
1. Choosing an image from your portfolio
2. Retouching your image within the rules
3. Paper choices
4. Printing your images
5. Matting and presentation for AIPP award image standards
It is important to utilise this opportunity for professional feedback and advice. If you are not able to make our print critique on the 17th of February, never fear we have one final opportunity on the 8th of March, to book please follow the links below.
Please take note that anyone who is not seeded for entry into this years National Awards (APPA), will need to enter the State Awards and have two or more of your images achieve scores of 80 or higher, so this feedback is critical in your success!
Pizza, drinks, and answers! All served with a healthy side of social interaction. If you've never been to one of these, you're missing out on an awesome night. New members and new comers to the awards, be sure to come along as this is the perfect opportunity to have all of your questions answered.
We look forward to seeing you there!
